So what is REBarCamp?
To best explain what REBarCamp is, it might be easier to tell you what it is NOT. REBarCamp is not a convention or seminar designed to make money. It is completely Free. Plus one of the great things about REBarcamp is there is NO SELLING at REBarCamp.
REBarCamp is a one day education event led by some local and not so local social media leaders in Real Estate. The coolest thing is, anyone can attend.
This may sound a little strange but, there is no preset agenda. When you arrive and get registered, you will complete a form indicating what YOU would like to learn about. The leadership them compiles an agenda for the day based on the most popular topics the attendees requested. There are always 3-5 sessions going at one time, so you will have to make some decisions on which topics are most important to you.
Another cool function of an REBarCamp KCis the educational sessions are not really pre-planned presentations, they are CONVERSATIONS. The session leaders will often give a 15-20 minute talk on the subject, and then open the room to question and answer. If you have a question or a statement, ask it. If you have an answer, offer it. Don’t be afraid to ask and answer questions during the day! The whole idea of REBarCamp is to share knowledge and to learn from others.
What could I expect to learn?
Some REBarCamp sessions from earlier REBarCamps included discussion on Google tools, How to enhance your LinkedIn Profile for profitability, a beginner’s guide to SEO, WordPress and blogging for Real Estate, Video in Real Estate, profiting with Facebook, and How to use Twitter. But at REBarCamp Kansas City, YOU will decide what you want to talk about, so be there early!!
Many have told me they have learned more from this free one day event than other events they’ve paid hundreds of dollars for from professional speakers that only gave nuggets of information with the intention of selling you their products.
